The International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF)

Since 1950, Society for Science & the Public has provided an international stage for the world’s best and brightest young scientists through its International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the world’s premier STEM competition. For more information click here.

VSTEMF is affiliated with ISEF and each year, we send one or more winners from our state fair to compete at this international fair. To be eligible for ISEF and ISEF-related prizes, you must be a Vermont student in grades 9-12, submit an individual project or a group project with no more than two members, and follow procedures (outlined below) beyond those necessary for VSTEMF.  These procedures ensure that your project is in compliance with National and International regulations if you are sent to represent Vermont at ISEF.

Students interested in participating in ISEF should find a teacher mentor to help them through the process. A link to the ISEF project Rules can be found here: ISEF Rules & Guidlines
